Video Walkthrough - Completing Your first profile
Walkthrough
- To create a baseline profile, go to the "Profiling" tab and select "New Profile".
- Choose whether to assess the Prime Areas or All Areas. We recommend All Areas, so you get a picture of the whole child.
- Select the child you want to profile, and begin with the first Arc and Strand, which is "Attachment" on the "Wellbeing" Arc.
- Read the statement and click on whether the child has reached the milestone or not.
- If the child has reached the milestone, it will move on to the next milestone in that strand. If not, it will move on to the next Strand.
- Continue reading the statements and marking whether the child has reached the milestone or not.
- After completing the Baseline assessment, click "Edit Arcs" to review and edit the assessment if needed.
- To edit an Arc or Strand, click on it and make any necessary changes.
- Click "Save" to finalise the assessment.
- You will have the option to export the assessment to the child's learning journal. If you choose to do so, it may need approval from a manager before it is added to the journal.
- Review the final version of the assessment and note any areas where the child may need support or further development.
Understanding the results
When you save the profile, Arc Pathway works out an Age Reached for each area. This is the age, in months, of the highest statement the child has reached in that area. Only statements marked as reached count towards it.
To see how each child's Age Reached compares with their actual age, use Age Related Analysis.
