Learning Pathways in Arc Pathway help track a child's developmental progress. This guide will show you how to:
- View learning pathways for each child
- Add observations through learning pathways
- Mark outcomes as 'Reached' or 'Nearly There'
Viewing Children's Priorities
You can quickly check your children's priorities via the My Children's Priorities tab. This view allows you to:
- See priority areas at a glance
- Filter priorities by specific learning areas or age groups

Accessing a Child's Learning Pathway
- Select a child from your list.
- Navigate to the Learning Pathway tab.
- By default, the top six priorities for that child will be displayed.
- These priorities can be from any learning area.
- The system emphasises prime areas of learning.
- To save or share these priorities, use the Toolbar button to download a PDF.
Exporting Learning Pathways
If you wish to share all learning pathways with parents, you can do so by selecting Export to Journal.

Viewing and Managing Learning Pathways
- Click View Pathway to access the detailed pathway related to a specific outcome.
- You will see:
- The outcome the child is working towards
- The expected age range in months for that outcome
- The Toolbar button allows you to:
- Download the pathway as a PDF
- Share the pathway with parents

Using the Overview for Next Steps
The Overview section provides next-step advice tailored to the child’s outcome. This guidance has been created by child development specialists.

Adjusting Outcomes
- If an outcome seems too advanced, you can create smaller steps towards achieving it.
- Marking these steps as Reached records progress towards the final outcome.

Updating a Child's Progress
You can update a child's progress by marking an outcome as:
- Nearly There – indicating they are close to achieving the goal
- Reached – confirming the outcome has been met
Once updated, these changes will be reflected in:
- The child’s Arc
- The Overview tab
- The child's updated priorities

Adding Observations
Observations can be created within the Learning Pathway and are linked to specific outcomes.
- Adding an observation does not automatically mark an outcome as 'Reached'.
- Similarly, you can mark an outcome as 'Reached' without adding an observation.

Summary
Learning Pathways in Arc Pathway provide a structured approach to tracking and supporting child development. By following these steps, you can efficiently monitor progress, adjust goals, and share updates with parents and other teachers.
