Arc Pathway’s approval system helps you ensure that content shared with parents meets your school’s standards. Here’s how it works for you as a Manager.
🔐 Who Needs Approvals?
- Some teachers may be set to require approval before their items appear in the Learning Journal.
 
- Manager accounts never require approval.
 
- Approvals are configured during onboarding, either:
 - Individually per teacher
 - Or applied to all non-manager staff
 
📥 Receiving and Managing Approvals
- You’ll receive a notification when one of your teachers submits something for approval.
 

- Click the notification, or go to Menu > Approvals.
 
- On the Approvals page, you can:
 - View a list of all pending approvals
 - Approve All or Reject All
 - Click View to see an individual submission in more detail
 

- When viewing an item:
 - You can edit the observation before it goes to the Learning Journal.
 - You can either Approve or Reject the submission.
 
🍼 Care Diary Approvals
- Care Diary entries can be excluded from approvals by default.
 
- To require approval for them:
 - Go to the Admin Dashboard > Care Diary tab
 - Tick “Enable Care Diary Manager Approvals”
 
- Once enabled, Care Diary entries submitted by teachers who require approval will also need to be approved.
 
❌ Rejecting Submissions
- You may reject a submission with a reason.
 

- The teacher will get a notification with your reason and the ability to revise and Re-export it.
 
- Teachers can track their rejected submissions from Menu > My Approvals.
 
⚠️ Notes
- Approvals are currently only available on the web platform.
 
- Teachers can only have one assigned manager, which is set via the Admin Dashboard > Teachers tab.
